Reasons of Anemia during Pregnancy


During pregnancy, the amount of the blood must get increased otherwise it may becomes difficult for the baby or the fetus to feed inside. Anemia during pregnancy decreases the iron from the blood and the fetus gets unable to draw the iron from the blood of the mother.
The condition of anemia during pregnancy may lead to improper growth of the fetus. When the mother got pregnant, the amount of the blood starts getting increased for up to fifty percent. Sometimes the fetus requires the iron amount more than the amount naturally present inside the blood of the mother. In such cases, anemia in pregnancy might develop. According to the medical estimates and the facts that are being commonly shared it is being said that for about twenty percent of the females are with iron deficiency during pregnancy.
One of the primary reasons of anemia during pregnancy is of low level of iron in blood. This might develops when the pregnant women is not taking balanced diet which means diet that is rich of iron and vitamins. Another reason is of deficiency of folic acid which is a type of vitamin B. this is helpful in producing the new cells which also includes red blood cells. The quantities of folate need to be extra during pregnancy for healthy growth of the fetus. Also, pregnant women body must produce red blood cells otherwise it may lead to unhealthy growth of baby.
When you got anemia in pregnancy, you need to go through proper examination as you might not know in the start but gradually it may become severe not only for the baby but for you as well. So, we need to understand the symptoms of the anemia first. Two of the main symptoms are tiredness and weakness. It is quite normal to get the condition of the anemia only if it is mild enough. You may get into severe anemia depending upon the level of vitamins and the iron in the blood stream.
One of the primary risks that are associated with the anemia during pregnancy is preterm delivery. Such fetus is with weak immunity system and is not capable enough in bearing the diseases. The complications of the pregnancy may get enhanced when the pregnant women do not take notice of her condition and leave it unattended.  There are several types of anemia during pregnancy like, iron deficiency, folate deficiency and vitamin B12 deficiency. Each type of the anemia develops due to various set of reasons.
So, all in all, the anemia reasons can better be controlled if the reasons are known. The bottom line is that if you are pregnant then keeps your diet enriched with iron, vitamin b12 and folic acid.
